Lubben Vineyards of Anamosa wins pair of awards at 2026 Iowa Wine Growers Association banquet

    Lubben Vineyards & Wines took home two awards from the Iowa Wine Growers Association’s 2026 Awards Banquet, held March 23 at Oscar Carl Vineyard in Sioux City in conjunction with the association’s annual conference.

    Dalton Lubben, winemaker at Lubben Vineyards & Wines, was named the 2026 Iowa Wine Growers Association Winemaker of the Year, while Judy Lubben received the 2026 Iowa Wine Growers Association Marketer Excellence Award.

    “These award recipients represent the passion, hard work, and commitment that continue to move the Iowa wine industry forward,” said Christie Jensen, executive director of the Iowa Wine Growers Association. “Being recognized by their peers makes this honor even more meaningful.”

    Four other individuals and businesses were also recognized at the banquet.

    William Wyant of Wilrona, LLC in Marengo was named the 2026 Vineyard of the Year. René and Richard White of The Wijn House in Pella received the 2026 Retail Partner of the Year award. And Terry Bockenstedt of Nutrien Ag Solutions in Dyersville was named the 2026 Outstanding Industry Partner.

    The Iowa Wine Growers Association, established in 2000, supports the state’s grape and wine industry through education, marketing, promotion and legislative advocacy. More information is available at iowawinegrowers.org.
