Laura Bensema has joined the Corridor Media Group, which publishes the Corridor Business Journal and the Quad Cities Regional Business Journal, as Chief Financial Officer, bringing more than 20 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, and internal controls.
Ms. Bensema began her career in public accounting at Arthur Andersen and Deloitte, where she supported clients with financial reporting and control design to meet Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements. She went on to hold senior leadership roles in finance, tax, and internal audit within the financial services industry before transitioning to CFO/Controller consulting, helping companies establish sound financial processes and long-term plans for growth and sustainability.
Her areas of expertise include management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, accounting research, tax reporting, process improvement, risk and control assessments, and building teams grounded in accountability.
Ms. Bensema holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Iowa. She also holds an inactive CPA certificate and is a QuickBooks Online Certified ProAdvisor.
