Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa Neurology is now providing inpatient neurological services exclusively at UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Hospital, marking the third specialty practice to establish an exclusive partnership with the hospital.
The arrangement, which took effect Sept. 1, allows PCI Neurology to focus its inpatient services at a single facility while maintaining outpatient services throughout the Cedar Rapids area.
“By focusing our inpatient services at UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s, we can deliver timely, coordinated care for those facing urgent neurological needs while continuing to support the growing demand for outpatient services,” said Dr. Robert Struthers, PCI Neurology department chair in a statement.
According to a news release, PCI Neurology’s team includes three board-certified neurologists and five advanced practice providers who treat disorders affecting the brain, spinal cord, nervous system, muscles and neuromuscular junctions. Services include acute stroke treatment and stroke prevention, as well as treatment for migraine, neuropathic disorders, multiple sclerosis and other neurologic conditions.

The neurology partnership follows similar exclusive arrangements announced by PCI Urology last week and the area’s only local anesthesiology practice in December 2024.
St. Luke’s Hospital is a 532-bed facility serving a seven-county area surrounding Cedar Rapids. Founded in 1884, the hospital has received Magnet Hospital designation.
Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa, established in 1997, is one of Iowa’s largest specialty medical groups with more than 80 physicians, surgeons and mid-level providers. The independent, locally owned practice operates at PCI Medical Pavilions 1 and 2 and provides surgical services at multiple area facilities.
