VenuWorks names Robert Thomas executive director for Cedar Rapids venues

    VenuWorks has appointed Robert Thomas as executive director overseeing its Cedar Rapids facilities, the company announced Monday, Dec. 8.

    Mr. Thomas will manage operations for the Alliant Energy PowerHouse, Paramount Theatre, McGrath Amphitheatre and ImOn Ice Arena Cedar Rapids.

    Thomas brings 18 years of experience in the music and venue management industry to the position. Most recently, he served as vice president of programming and talent buying and president at TempleLive, where he oversaw operational performance across multiple venues. During his tenure, Thomas grew the company to eight-figure revenue and facilitated expansion into Columbus, Ohio, and Peoria, Illinois.

    His career also includes roles with Live Nation Worldwide Inc., where he worked in talent buying.

    Mr. Thomas said he looked forward to working with the team in Cedar Rapids.

    VenuWorks is an employee-owned venue management company that manages 53 venues across the U.S. The company first came to Cedar Rapids in June 1999, when the City of Cedar Rapids hired them to manage the Paramount.
