The University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business has earned national recognition for its Iowa MBA program, which was ranked No. 6 overall and No. 4 among public universities in The Princeton Review’s 2025 Top 50 Online MBA Programs.

The ranking marks a significant jump from the 2023 list, where the program placed 16th overall and ninth among public institutions.

The Princeton Review bases its rankings on data from more than 54,000 students and institution administrators across the country. Factors considered include academic quality, technology, career services, fellow students, and immersion programs.

Tippie Dean Amy Kristof-Brown said the ranking affirms students’ attraction to the program’s combination of affordability, convenience and flexibility. The Iowa MBA allows students to customize their degree with concentrations in such fields as AI and technology management, business analytics, and leadership.

“This recognition is a testament to the reputation we’ve built as a leader in online business education,” Ms. Kristof-Brown said. “Students have spoken and they’re telling us loud and clear that instruction from world-class faculty, engagement with professionals in other markets, and advancement in their careers are top priorities.”

Graduate outcomes reflect the program’s impact. Among the classes of 2023 and 2024, 56% of graduates reported a change in job level, and average salaries increased by 30% within four months of graduation.

The Iowa MBA enrolls students from 48 states, with 64% residing in Iowa. It is the only Iowa-based program to appear in The Princeton Review’s top 50 and has also been recognized by U.S. News & World Report, Fortune, and Poets & Quants.
