The Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Eastern Iowa chapter will hold its 2025 National Philanthropy Day awards reception Thursday, Nov. 13 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the fourth-floor ballroom at the Veterans Memorial Building in Cedar Rapids.
Awards will be presented during a program at 4:30 p.m. This year’s honorees are David Maier and Matt McGrane, outstanding individual philanthropists; Barry Schreier, outstanding volunteer fundraiser; Mary Klinger, outstanding fundraising professional; Climate Engineers, outstanding philanthropic organization (large); Jefferson Band Parents Association, outstanding philanthropic organization (small); and Mira Gibbons, outstanding philanthropic youth.
A committee of community members and past honorees selected the recipients.
“The 2025 class of National Philanthropy Day Award honorees is top notch,” said Haley Rosendahl, National Philanthropy Day co-chair and board member. “We are excited to gather with the community to honor them and celebrate philanthropy in the Corridor.”
The Eastern Iowa chapter has honored philanthropic efforts in the Corridor since 1987. National Philanthropy Day is celebrated globally Nov. 15.
Registration for the philanthropy awards reception is $35 and includes hors d’oeuvres and nonalcoholic beverages. A cash bar will be available.
