National LGBT Chamber of Commerce opens grant applications for LGBTQ+, ally businesses

The Iowa LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce announced on Wednesday that applications are now open for a series of grants for local businesses celebrating LGBTQ & Allied business resilience.

Applications are open for a series of grants supporting local LGBTQ+ and allied-owned restaurants, cafes, and bars serving food.

The National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) Community Impact Grant Program, in partnership with the Iowa LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce and supported by the Grubhub Community Fund, is offering eligible businesses $5,000-$25,000.

Businesses can use the funding for a variety of purposes such as enhancing security measures, acquiring new equipment, engaging in community initiatives, marketing and PR efforts, bolstering digital and e-commerce presence, procurement of products, implementing staff training programs, supporting employee wages and incentives, maintaining or upgrading existing infrastructure, in addition to other things.

To be eligible for the grants, a business must:

  • Be an LGBTQ+-owned or LGBTQ+ ally-owned restaurant, bar or café that serves food
  • Provide proof that establishment is LGBTQ+ or allied-owned
  • Have not received more than two NGLCC Community Impact Grants in previous years.

The Central Region grant application is open now through June 4, 2024. To apply, visit https://nglcc.submittable.com/submit/295221/2024-nglcc-community-impact-grant-program-supported-by-the-grubhub-community-fund/eligibility.
