The Monticello Area Chamber of Commerce invites the public to celebrate National Manufacturing Week with a series of factory tours on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

An initiative from the Manufacturing Institute, the week-long celebration draws attention to the contributions of the manufacturing sector by highlighting its efforts over the past year and the subsequent impact on the nation’s economy.

Hosted by the U.S. Census Bureau, the Institute is leveraging this week to spotlight the manufacturing sector with a series of studies, fact sheets, statistics, and reports that illustrate its critical role in both the American and global economy. The release of this data aims to capture the attention of business leaders and policymakers, emphasizing the sector’s significance and urging continued support for its workforce and contributions nationwide.

Additionally, the week also serves as a platform to promote job opportunities and career development for potential workers, reinforcing the importance of the manufacturing industry in building the nation’s economic future.

From 1 – 3 p.m. visitors can tour the following Monticello facilities:

  • 7th Street Stone Company: 204 W. 7th St.
  • Polo Custom Products: 902 N. Birch St.
  • Julin Printing Company: 801 N. Birch St.
  • M&S Manufacturing Inc.: 225 W. 11th St.

Tours occur every half hour within the listed time frame. Drop-ins are welcome, but the Chamber encourages groups numbering more than 10 to RSVP through the Monticello Area Chamber of Commerce at chamber@macc-ia.us.
