Mercy Rehabilitation Services has earned a bronze-level recognition as a PORi Center of Excellence in Oncology Rehabilitation, recognizing its commitment to integrated, high-quality cancer rehabilitation care.
The designation, awarded by the Physiological Oncology Rehabilitation Institute (PORi), highlights Mercy’s Hall-Perrine Cancer Center as one of only five facilities in Iowa to achieve this status. The award is based on standards of multidisciplinary coordination, evidence-based protocols and patient-centered care aimed at improving both outcomes and operational efficiency.
As part of the recognition, four Mercy therapists completed PORi certification: Claire Petersen, MS, CCC-SLP; Nichole Plagge, PT; Sarah Stovie, OT; and Jessica Pearson, OT.
“We are honored to receive this national recognition,” said Nichole Plagge, clinical manager of therapies at Mercy, in a statement. “This designation reflects the dedication and expertise of our oncology rehabilitation team and our ongoing mission to provide the highest-quality care to cancer patients throughout their treatment and recovery.”
