Midwest convenience store chain Kwik Star, known for its extensive in-store food selections, is debuting its new North Liberty store this week on July 18.
Beginning at 5 a.m., patrons can fuel both their tanks and their stomachs at 1810 Diamond Blvd., a location easily accessible from Interstate 380 off exit 2.
To celebrate its new location, Kwik Star is offering several promotions, including the chance to win free gas for a year, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony July 25 at 11 a.m.
The Midwest chain got its start in 1965 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, as Kwik Trip. When the company expanded to Iowa in 1993, it adopted the moniker Kwik Star to avoid confusion with existing convenience store chain, QuikTrip.
According to a Kwik Trip spokesperson, there are currently 140 Kwik Stars operating in Iowa.
