Johnson County officials will present final recommendations from a non-metro housing study during a public meeting from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Nov. 12 in rooms 203 B-C of the Johnson County Health and Human Services Building, 855 S. Dubuque St., Iowa City.
CommunityScale will deliver formal presentations at 5:45 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., with informal discussion between sessions, a release stated.
The assessment includes key findings and policy recommendations for unincorporated areas and six communities: Hills, Lone Tree, Oxford, Shueyville, Solon and Swisher. The study also addresses concerns about manufactured home parks in the county.
“The recommendations are based on more than 35 hours of engagement with nearly 120 residents, stakeholders, elected officials and local government staff,” the release stated, adding that 90 surveys were completed.
CommunityScale will present the final recommendations to the Johnson County Board of Supervisors at 9 a.m. Nov. 12 during a work session. A broadcast link and the presentation in multiple languages will be available at least 24 hours before the meeting at the Johnson County meeting portal.
The final presentation will also be posted on the Johnson County Housing Study dashboard. For more information, visit johnsoncountyiowa.gov/housing-assessment-study-2025.
