What’s the best advice you ever received?
Never ask someone to do something you wouldn’t do yourself. Live your truth and allow others to do the same.
What would most people be surprised to learn about you?
I was a tomboy growing up. I loved dirt, sports, long jean shorts, No Fear t-shirts and not showering.
What do you know now that you wish you had known earlier in your career?
When you’re new in a career, you want to be accepted and liked. It’s easy to agree with opinions you may not believe in or “censor” your gut reaction to new situations and scenarios. I wish I would have realized earlier that it’s okay to let your inner wild child fly. It’s an asset to see situations differently, even if it isn’t “right” or “popular.”
What’s something people should know about your generation in the workplace?
We are hardworking, innovative and very conscientious, not only of the well-being of the communities we live in, but also of the status of the world. Give us a problem and we will solve it using our ingenuity, time and ever-evolving technology.
If you had $1 million to give, what causes would you support?
Creative arts programs in underserved schools, cancer research specific to the area of stomach cancer, emotional and monetary support for medical caregivers, and hospice.
What is the biggest issue facing the Corridor?
Undersupported road infastructure in quickly growing small communities.

Julie Lester, practice administrator at Radiologic Medical Services, and Elizabeth Tracey, programming supervisor for City Circle Acting Company and Young Footlights at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts.
