About 30 of the 300-plus job cuts announced by Cedar Rapids-based CRST will impact drivers in Cedar Rapids, according to a post Monday, Dec. 8 on the Iowa Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act website.

The 30 workers were notified Dec. 3 that their jobs were being cut, according to the post. The cuts will be effective Feb. 1, 2026.

The address listed in the post is 1332 Edgewood Rd. SW, the office of CRST Expedited.

The announcement of the Cedar Rapids impact comes in the wake of CRST’s announcement last week it planned to “redeploy” a portion of its Over The Road (OTR) fleet and cut more than 300 of the company’s drivers nationwide.

According to a post on the trucking company’s website, the company is shifting 100 of its trucks to other parts of the business and removing an estimated 200 trucks from its total fleet of 4,300 trucks.

The change represents less than 4% of the company’s total logistics portfolio, the company said.

“This decision is intended to strengthen our ability to serve customers through the solutions that drive the most value, reliability and long-term stability,” the company said in its website post.

The move will result in headcount reductions of more than 300 drivers nationwide, the company said, but at the time of the announcement, there was no indication of the location of the affected employees.
