Crystal Group, Inc., based in Hiawatha, will introduce its “RE0924 Industrial Workstation” at DISTRIBUTECH 2025, a national trade show and conference for power and utilities companies hosted in Dallas, Texas, from March 25-27.

As stated in a news release from Crystal Group, the new rugged tech is designed to withstand demanding environments, and will deliver high-performance computing capabilities in a durable, compact form.

The system functions as both an industrial workstation computer and a mid-tier server, offering high-performance processing and advanced data storage capabilities in conditions where traditional systems may fail, the release states.

The RE0924 features a lightweight aluminum chassis, dual 2.5-gigabit Ethernet ports, and thermostatically controlled cooling to withstand extreme heat, dust, and debris. It supports up to 128GB of DDR5 memory and offers multiple PCIe expansion slots for system customization.

“The RE0924 represents a major advancement in rugged computing for industrial applications,” said Gary Holtz, systems architect at Crystal Group, in the release. “Its powerful processing capabilities, configurable design, and industry-leading thermal performance make it an ideal solution for energy, utilities, and critical infrastructure sectors.”

The system is designed for applications such as remote monitoring, sensor data processing, and real-time situational awareness. It includes support for up to four removable 2.5-inch solid-state drives (SSDs), providing storage capacity for data-intensive operations across distributed networks.

“As the energy and utilities sectors continue to embrace digital transformation, the demand for rugged, high-performance computing at the edge has never been greater,” said Staci Kono, senior program manager at Crystal Group, in the release. “The RE0924 offers a scalable, long-life compute solution that enables real-time decision-making in environments where traditional systems simply cannot operate.”

Crystal Group states that the RE0924 meets industry standards for resistance to shock, vibration, humidity, and high altitudes, ensuring reliability in harsh conditions. The system is backed by a five-year warranty and includes configuration management to support long-term industrial operations.
