A dual-brand hotel combining Avid Hotels and Candlewood Suites in Coralville is making its debut Nov. 6.
The Avid Hotel | Candlewood Suites Coralville – Iowa City by IHG will celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon cutting from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 140 Westcor Drive.
“This innovative property combines two trusted hotel experiences under one roof: the modern, efficient design of Avid Hotels and the comfortable, home-away-from-home feel of Candlewood Suites,” a release stated.
During the grand opening celebration, the hotel will launch a fundraiser to benefit University of Iowa Health Care’s Stead Family Children’s Hospital. Guests can donate onsite or through a QR code.
“Our families have experienced the exceptional care provided by UI Health Care, and this fundraiser is our way of paying it forward…ensuring others receive that same compassionate, world-class care,” the ownership team said in a statement.
The event is open to the public and will include property tours, refreshments, prize drawings, a raffle and a silent auction.
