The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation announced it is once more partnering with DonorsChoose to match donations for classroom projects in Linn County public schools.

DonorsChoose, a national nonprofit organization, gives teachers an online platform to post classroom projects for donors to support. The Community Foundation will provide a dollar-for-dollar match on donations for projects costing $2,000 or less, with $30,000 in total matching funds available beginning Aug. 1.

Currently, 52 projects from Linn County teachers are posted on DonorsChoose.org, seeking funding for math and reading supplies, STEM activities and games, art materials, cleaning supplies and more. In 2024, the match funded 126 projects for 82 teachers at 25 schools. In previous years, the match has been spent by the end of September.
