Chipotle Mexican Grill will open a new Cedar Rapids restaurant Tuesday in a standalone site at 3425 Westdale Parkway SW, featuring the chain’s first Chipotlane in the Corridor.
The Chipotlane is a drive-thru pickup lane that allows customers to retrieve digital orders without leaving their vehicles.
The restaurant will be open daily from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The Cedar Rapids opening coincides with the limited-time availability of two menu additions: Carne Asada and Red Chimichurri sauce.
The restaurant is hiring approximately 30 positions. Benefits include a crew bonus program offering the opportunity to earn an extra month’s pay annually, a debt-free college degree program, English as a second language courses, and mental health care access for employees and their families.
Chipotle also announced a new Chipotle U Rewards program for college students, offering 1,000 bonus points upon enrollment and 20% additional points on purchases. Students can enroll at chipotle.com/chipotle-u-rewards.
The chain is promoting a Build-Your-Own Chipotle option designed to serve four to six people, with $10 off first orders using code TRYBYOC through year-end.
Chipotle operates multiple locations across Linn and Johnson counties, including at Lindale Mall in Cedar Rapids and restaurants in Coralville and Iowa City.
