Administrative Director University of Iowa Physicians AGE: 38 Best advice you ever received? Always use “we” instead of “I” when communicating team ideas; always be on time; and end discussions with leaders with “how can I help you?”  What do you consider your biggest break so far? I feel like I’ve had to work really hard in my career, but I think my biggest “break” is the team I have the pleasure of working with every day in my current role. What would most people be surprised to learn about you? I love to teach. I’m a spin instructor and teach two courses at the College of Public Health and another undergraduate course with the radiation sciences program. What’s the biggest issue facing the Corridor, and why? Growth – we need to focus on providing need services (health care, mental health, education, etc.) to support the growth in the Corridor in an equitable way that promotes diversity and inclusion. If you had $1 million to give, what causes would you support? Women’s advancement, cancer research and mental health support. What are your passions outside of the workplace? Traveling, food and wine, biking. What’s something people should know about your generation in the workplace? I think its important to value and listen to what’s most important to them; ie: family, travel, flexibility, balance, rewards and recognition. We spend more time with the company and people we work with then the people in our personal lives in most cases.  What do you want to accomplish by the time you are 50? I want to continue to make an impact in our communities and team members’ lives, hopefully on a larger scale in the next 10 years.
