Neumann Monson’s commitment to its clients has earned it the top spot again as the Corridor’s Best Architectural Firm. “Our clients and their missions are the heart of everything we do,” said marketing manager Denise Schmitz. “In 2017, we made client experience our top strategic priority and are working to build our design process through the lens of the client. Our net promoter – the percentage of clients willing to recommend us – is in the top 1% of 300 firms worldwide.” Neumann Monson is also emerging as a sustainable design leader. Its design for the Stanley Center for Peace and Security’s new headquarters in Muscatine is on track to become Iowa’s first fully certified Living Building, the most rigorous measure for sustainability. Construction of the facility begins this fall. Before the pandemic began in March 2020, Neumann Monson leveraged multiple collaborative platforms to better align their Iowa City and Des Moines offices, which helped the company adjust to new working situations in the past year. “While working remotely, we embraced what we learned, leveraged additional platforms to maximize collaboration, and established a staff-led initiative that created a plan for safely reopening our offices,” Ms. Schmitz said. “With most of our team back in the office, we continue utilizing technology to create a more egalitarian environment.” 1st Runner Up: Shive-Hattery 2nd Runner Up: Solum Lang Architects
