UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Electrophysiologist Talha Farid, MD, holds a set of Abbott AVEIR DR dual-chamber leadless pacemaker devices. Implanted into the upper and lower chambers of the heart, these devices communicate and pace the heart without the use of lead wires. Dr. Farid is one of the first cardiologists in Iowa, and the only one in Cedar Rapids, who is trained to implant the AVEIR dual-chamber leadless pacemaker system.
