CFO A Holding: Owner of A Holding real estate portfolio, Millennium Concrete, Brava Roof Tile, Nest Property Management, Quality Care, Active Endeavors AGE:  39 Best advice you’ve ever received? You’ll gain far more trust with humility than you will with boastful pride. (Thanks, Dad.) Force yourself into situations that may not feel comfortable. It’s the only way you will grow. What do you consider your biggest break so far? Aside from meeting the love of my life, I’d say my biggest break (professionally) came when I was asked to take a newly created director position at a competing Fortune 200 ag business in Kansas City.  What would most people be surprised to learn about you? When flying alone, I always pick the middle seat. I’d much rather double my odds of making a connection or new friendship in the air than have more elbow room. What’s the biggest issue facing the Corridor, and why? Attracting and retaining a workforce. With my work in the agriculture industry, I have a particularly strong concern for this issue as it has a direct impact on the affordability of the food that we eat. If you had $1 million to give, what causes would you support? I’d donate most to Fr. Chuck Adam’s campaign to help build the new St. Thomas More Church in Coralville, then spread out the rest to benefit local 4-H programs, Catholic Charities, AHA’s Go Red for Women, United Way and Junior Achievement. What are your passions outside of the workplace? My faith in God and love of my family are at the forefront of each day. I am also deeply impassioned in ensuring the success of agriculture.  What’s something people should know about your generation in the workplace? We are flexible. Older Millennials have 15-20 years of experience in the workplace by now, and have worked closely with two generations above us and a generation below us at this point.  What do you want to accomplish by the time you are 50? I hope to be in a position where I can spend more time with my family and friends. I’d like to wake up on my 50th birthday without an ounce of regret. I’d also like to overcome my fear of heights.
