Alliant Energy has partnered with HomeServe to offer optional home repair plans to customers in Iowa.
The program covers repairs to customer-owned natural gas lines and electrical equipment that connect homes to Alliant Energy’s systems. The plans address equipment failures or damage from normal wear and tear, which the utility is not responsible for repairing.
“Unexpected home repairs can be a big disruption to daily routines and a financial hardship for many homeowners, creating stress and unexpected work,” said Aimee Davis, vice president of communications, marketing and customer operations at Alliant Energy. “Through our partnership with HomeServe, our customers will benefit from a cost-effective solution that helps them safeguard their homes.”
HomeServe, which serves more than 4.5 million customers across North America, provides home repair protection plans. The company works with local contractors to handle repairs and operates a 24-hour hotline for customers to schedule service.
“At HomeServe, we strive to make homeownership easier,” said Tom Rusin, HomeServe North America CEO. “With these services, we’re empowering families by offering affordable, innovative solutions that address their top concerns.”
Alliant Energy customers will receive information about the program by mail. Participation is voluntary and will not affect customers’ gas or electric service if they choose not to enroll.
HomeServe operates independently from Alliant Energy. The company is accredited by the Better Business Bureau and endorsed by the National League of Cities.
Alliant Energy provides regulated energy service to approximately 1 million electric and 430,000 natural gas customers across Iowa and Wisconsin.
