ACT CEO: Organization’s foray into for-profit seeks to grow capabilities

    Educational organization and former nonprofit ACT made headlines last month when it announced a partnership with Nexus Capital Management LP, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm that exercises majority ownership over the institution.

    The restructuring merged ACT with its subsidiary Encoura, an education data science and research organization, and produced a new nonprofit, IntermediaryEd, which exerts minority ownership and will continue ACT’s work of college and career…
