What was your first job? Retail sales at Finish Line

Who do you consider your local mentors? Eli Wynes, chief financial officer and wealth advisor, and Mollie Thomsen, chief compliance officer and wealth advisor at United Iowa Financial.

What do you consider your "big break" in your career, so far? Getting to start in an operational position for the same group that I work with today. It allowed me to learn the intricacies of the industry and learn the why behind some of the decision making, recommendations and advice given by those that I look up to.

What would most people be surprised to learn about you? I volunteer for Junior Achievement and teach financial literacy classes for first graders. I was named a 2023-2024 Junior Achievement All-Star Volunteer of the year for my area.

What’s something people should know about your generation in the workplace? That we are motivated by meaning more than status or money. The ability to help individuals, or find meaning in our careers, seems to push us to excel more than some other factors or influences.

What are your passions outside of the workplace? Fitness, friends, and family. I love to stay physically active and believe it helps in many areas of life. I also really enjoy spending my weekends with friends and family.

If you had $1 million to give, what causes would you support? I would piggyback on United Iowa Financial's mission of investing in the children of our communities. First and foremost, I would want to make sure that the children in our community have their basic needs met, such as housing, furniture, food, health care and education. I have worked closely with organizations such as Houses into Homes and Junior Achievement, who do amazing work in the community supporting these causes.
