Best advice you ever received? Don’t worry about the future. Work hard, stay humble, and do good with what you have in front of you. The rest will take care of itself.

What do you consider your “big break” in your career, so far? Promotion to Director of Clinic Operations in 2014. It provided me with a great opportunity to expand my skill set and knowledge through working closely to support our physicians.

What’s the biggest issue facing the Corridor, and why? There is a significant labor shortage across many fields in health care and we’re not seeing enough graduates from local colleges and universities to close the gap, despite the need for health care to continue growing.

What’s something people should know about your generation in the workplace? We’re relationship based and value the people around us.

Who do you consider your local mentors? Casey Greene, President of St. Luke’s Hospital. Direct supervisor.

Steve Slessor, CEO of Winneshiek County Medical Center. Friend and former boss.

If you had $1 million to give, what causes would you support? Big Brothers Big Sisters, Willis Dady Homeless Shelter, Hands of Compassion.

What do you want to accomplish by the time you are 50? I jokingly say I’m only 6 lucky numbers away from retirement. With or without that, I want to be able to feel that I’m raising my two kids to be kind, compassionate, and very close to my wife and myself.

What would most people be surprised to learn about you? I enjoy action adventure vacations, and my favorite experience has been snorkeling in the Silfra Fissure, between two tectonic plates in Iceland.

What are your passions outside of the workplace? Family time, anything outdoors — tennis, cycling, walks.
