Tanager launches mental health support groups

Tanager Place

Tanager, a mental health support organization based in Cedar Rapids, has launched new monthly support groups designed for parents, caretakers, and guardians of children and teens facing challenges related to mental health, difficult behaviors, substance use, or other related experiences.

The support groups will create a nurturing space where parents and caregivers can come together, fostering connection and support from one another. Tanager recognizes the importance of a strong support system and aims to provide a platform for individuals facing similar challenges to share experiences and insights.

The support groups will feature opportunities for participants to enhance their understanding of mental health topics. Tanager therapists and other service providers will be present to address questions and provide valuable information.

In-person and virtual options are available, ensuring accessibility for everyone. The in-person meetings will take place on the first Monday of each month from 6-7 p.m. at the Tanager Estle Center, lower level large training room, 1030 Fifth Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids.

While registration is optional, individuals are encouraged to sign up in advance. To register or for more information, visit tanagerplace.org/events-calendar. Registration is required for the virtual groups.
