Iowa’s craft beer industry has come together once more to brew a collaborative beer in support of the industry. Brewed at Field Day Brewing in North Liberty, the new beer’s name is “Yield of Dreams” as a nod to the craft beer industry’s impact on Iowa’s agriculture industry and throughout the state’s rural communities.
The annual collaborative brew day, which took place May 28, 2024, brings together brewers from across the state to brew a new beer that highlights the economic impact of Iowa’s craft beer industry. This year’s collaborative brew is a lager made from Iowa-grown corn and will be launched at the 2024 Iowa State Fair.
In 2020, the Iowa Brewers Guild (IBG) launched its first collaborative brew to sustain the organization during the pandemic. Supported by IBG members and allied industry partners, this has become an annual collaboration that both funds IBG and supports the craft brewing community, according to a news release.
“Each year, we’re excited to launch a new collaborative brew to help grow consumer enthusiasm about Iowa craft brewing with a brand that celebrates all things Iowa,” said Noreen Otto, executive director of the IBG in a release. “Made from Iowa corn and brewed right here in Iowa, ‘Yield of Dreams’ will be a beer that Iowans can enjoy knowing it directly supports an industry and small businesses in our state.”
Field Day Brewing donated its time, facility and resources to brew this year’s collaborative beer. Field Day Brewing Company opened in August of 2023 and is located in North Liberty, Iowa. Their custom-made system allows for complete control and flexibility when working with raw materials and intended for projects that utilize local and raw ingredients.
“We are excited to help rebrand this project and grow awareness for Iowa corn and beer and community-driven spaces like ours,” said Alec Travis, co-founder and head of Brewery Operations.
The Iowa Brewers Guild is the not-for-profit trade association of professional brewers of beer, cider and mead in Iowa. More than 100 breweries in the state are IBG members. IBG’s “Brewed in Iowa” campaign celebrates the state’s craft beer industry and its economic impact throughout Iowa.
