Don Hummer Trucking rolled into first place in the Best Trucking Company category. Value-added solutions helped propel the trucking company to the No. 1 stop.
“We understand the unique challenges customers face within their respective industries,” said Troy Cummings, Hummer’s marketing and communications manager. “This allows us to deliver value by working directly with customers to create custom transportation solutions to address their specific needs.”
Those custom transportation solutions are made possible by a team of committed employees.
“The people,” said Mr. Cummings, is what sets Don Hummer Trucking apart from other trucking companies. The success of the company is built around teamwork, which benefits drivers and customers.
Acknowledging how the life of a truck driver has changed, Don Hummer Trucking introduced scheduled positions to its truck drivers. Knowing the importance of a work-life balance, truckers now know “how much they will be paid and exactly when they will be home,” said Mr. Cummings.
Even the pandemic did not shift the trucking company’s objectives. Because of upgrades to its infrastructure, the company’s office staff “quickly and efficiently” transitioned to remote work.
“This gave us an advantage to support drivers as the pandemic worsened and the freight demand increased across the country,” added Mr. Cummings.
